Better to GIVE than to receive

As the saying goes, "its better to give than receive" and truthfully, I really do feel this way. Nothing makes me happier than giving a gift to someone and watching their face when they realize how much thought and effort you put into the details of the gift. While I know its perfectly acceptable to get some wrapping paper and call it a day ( I have done this, don't get me wrong) its just so much more exciting when its wrapped up with all the pretty fixings. Perhaps this why I love flowers so much. The best part of my job is when I deliver the wedding flowers to the bride. The look on her face is always the best. You cant help but smile when you realize that each flower was picked especially for you. It makes the hours of work and days of prep just fade away and its all worth it. I love to make people feel special and watch them smile. So for me, its really is better to give than to receive!

This past weekend went to a baby shower for a good friend that is due at the end of August. She is having a girl, Little Miss Baby Emma and I cannot wait to meet her. So as you all know I am sure, you head to BabiesRUs, you print the registry and off you go... Well let me just tell you how much I HATE that store. Not because I don't have a baby or anything like that, but because it must have been designed by an infant. You print the registry, there are NO pictures of the items, just the names and oh there are location numbers for each section.... here I am thinking, great! Well too bad that there is no reference to a location number anywhere in the store! So I have an 8 page registry, all things I can identify have been purchased already, and what is left I haven't the slightest clue what it is even talking about. Now if there were pictures, sure I could figure it out... but hell no! So 2 hours of roaming around the store I left empty handed, went home and ordered online where I could see what the item looked like! I came up with a mix of little things that were left to buy. I wanted to make it special, so I decided to wrap it all up in a cute basket with pink ribbon! Congrats to my dear friend and I am so excited to meet your little one soon!
