I read an article in the newspaper this morning about the troubling economy ( surprise surprise!) and how it effecting brides- to-be that are planning their weddings. The article focused on the ways that people are cutting back these days. For example, choosing a less expensive venue, going with in season flowers, shopping at outlet wedding boutiques, and even going away from the traditional cake to cupcakes.
After planning my own wedding, almost 2 years ago now, I understand the importance of each little detail. You want your wedding to be a personal reflection of you both as couple. You want to have the wedding that everyone is going to remember. You want people to still be talking about it for years to come... I understand, but at the same time, you don't want to sell the farm to do it!
With a little bit of creativity you can achieve all this. You need to open your eyes and start looking. Look all around you for inspiration. If you aren't creative, find someone who is. You can do beautiful and elegant and not spend a million bucks!
Brides often as me for ways they can save money... Centerpieces are a big price tag when you multiply it by 20 tables. Here are 2 examples I found on the Internet, of great centerpieces that would be inexpensive but still really stand out. The most costly items in these arrangements are definitely the hard goods ( glassware and rocks). Something to remember too - anything that is in water is magnified! Orchids look awesome underwater!!
