One Wedding Down - Four to Go!
Take A Whiff wedding season is off and running. With one down - only 4 more to go!
This weekend was a success. Wedding was in Uxbridge MA at Arrowhead Acres, a Christmas tree farm. The bride was having a reissance themed wedding. She chose White Lilies as her main focal flower with soft purple accents. This wedding provided a few first for me, which are always fun and challenging!
I had never worked with Lilies for a wedding before. Considering people can be highly allergic, its not a common wedding flower, but the it was the bride's favorite. The centerpieces came out great. The bride provided the containers, which were glass milk bottles. With a small opening - it was a challegne to get a full arrangement, but since the Lilies are large, I think it worked really well. Once we added the centerpieces to the tables at the reception - the place really lit up! The Lilies for the Bridal Party bouquets took some trial and error. Since the lily stems have several buds, all in different stages of opening, it was interesting trying to put them together in to some what symetrical bouquet. In the end, I wound up needing to remove all but 2 or 3 of the buds per stem, in order to get a more even bouquet. I think the result was great - I hope the bride agrees! Lastly, I was able to work with fresh Lavender - which was a total treat. The bride wanted lavender bouts and they came out great. Very fragrant and masculine. These were certainly my favorite item of this wedding and I will recommend it to other brides that are looking for something a little different! (if they want purple)
I will be getting the professional pictures from this wedding, so once I do, I will post them.
Until then - prep for the upcoming weekend. I pick up at the market Thursday morning this week and then its off to work again! I am excited for this wedding - Bride is using Orange and Chocolate Brown! Makes me so excited for fall! I have posted a few inspiration pictures here!
